With a population of less than 500 people, North Hampton is a village located in Clark County as part of the Springfield, Ohio Metropolitan Area. It was laid out as early as 1829 and incorporated officially in 1925. Because Ohio State Route 41 runs through the village, the town has a large amount of daily traffic estimated to be as high as 5,040 cars. Most of the village’s homes were built in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Today, the village has its own sewer collection, water treatment facility and four acre park. It is also home to what was at one time the largest wood structure on this side of the Mississippi River.

Every year the village hosts a Memorial Day Parade. The town is served by the Northwestern School District.
